There is so one simple answer to this question and lots of things will effect how people deal with their litter. Fitting in with those around you, not thinking one bit of litter will do any harm, not having been taught that its not ok. even just copying what others around them are doing. It can take a lot of of courage to stand out and be different if no one else is doing the right thing.

Tastes change, kids get bord of things and its fun to try new things but if you end up with half a bottle of sauce its best to try and find a way to use it before throwing it away! Using it in a recipe like meatloaf, or turning it into a different better sauce like barbeque might mean it can still be enjoyed! If that’s not an option you might be able to compost it if your local bin collection has a food collection. As a last resort, washing it down a drain with water will take it to the waste water treatment plant that can handle things like ketchup (it would end up there when you go to the toilet anyway). Regardless of which route you take, make sure you rinse and recycle the bottle it came in!
